How are Privy wallets secured?

At Privy, we’ve built our security foundation on unwavering principles. Our systems are non-custodial by design, ensuring that only authorized users can access their keys through sophisticated key splitting and secure execution environments. We implement defense in depth, with multiple independent security boundaries protecting your users’ assets - from cryptographic guarantees to hardware-level isolation.

Legacy Wallets

If you were a Flipsuite user before 22nd August 2025, most of your Flipwallets (depending on which chains you interacted with) are probably using the legacy wallet system that wasn’t using Privy as an extra layer of security for your wallet. This legacy wallet system is secure and will still be maintained moving forward, but we recommend everyone to migrate their Flipwallets to use Privy, so they don’t miss out on future benefits and perks coming from using a Privy wallet.

How to migrate to Privy?

To migrate your legacy Flipwallet to use Privy, simply execute the /flipwallet command in Discord and click the upgrade to privy wallet button.

This will generate a fresh Privy Flipwallet for the selected chain. You can switch between your legacy and Privy Flipwallet using switch to privy wallet and switch to legacy wallet buttons.
Because Privy wallet has a new address, you need to migrate your funds and NFTs from your legacy Flipwallet manually.
